In Arkivalieronline you will find all of the Danish National Archives’ digitized documents (mainly danish). Note that only about 2% of the collections are digitized.

Some records are protected by a restricted access period, but you can still apply for permission to view that material.
Genealogy – how to get started
To conduct research about any particular person it is necessary to start with some basic information: their full name; the date and place of their birth; marriage, death or an exact address in a year during which a population census in Denmark took place.

You can apply for access to information about yourself held by the Danish National Archives (Rigsarkivet). You can obtain the information free of charge.

If you cannot find your education certificate, diploma or exam records from your school or on Min Kompetencemappe, the Danish National Archives may be able to help you.
