The Danish National Archives is a research institution under the Danish Ministry of Culture, and one of the tasks of the Danish National Archives is to conduct research and disseminate the results of that research.

The Danish National Archives’ research includes primary research on the history of Denmark as well archive, registry and digital archiving research.
The Danish National Archives’ researchers have both archival duties and dedicated research time. The research is characterised by its large chronological and thematic scope: it includes everything from research into the middle ages to modern times, up to and including studies of quantitative, demographic studies and cultural history studies, etc.
